London is a region of England, also commonly known as the Greater London area. Greater London is composed of the City of London and the 32 London boroughs surrounding it. The urban sprawl of the metropolis covers a roughly similar area, with a slightly larger population. Beyond this is the vast London commuter belt. Almost one third of London's total area is made up of green spaces, with 143 registered parks and gardens.

he City of London is the oldest part of London, and yet with its towering sky scrapers it is also the most modern. St Paul's Cathedral is the most visited spot in the City. Built after the Great Fire to replace the Church that had previously stood there, St Paul's galleries and crypt are legendary.

London is also home to Britain's national art collections, the Royal family and a host of major attractions. In London there are currently four World Heritage Sites: Palace of Westminster, Tower of London, Maritime Greenwich and Kew Gardens and 17 national museums across the capital.

London is a very accessible city; it has five international airports, an efficient road network and extensive Underground and a large port. It serves as the largest aviation hub in the world, and its principal airport, Heathrow, carries more international passengers than any other airport in the world.

Our Year Round English 25 course run from Jan - June 2012 & Sep - Dec 2012 and students can start on any Monday. Students study 25 hours per week. The 25-hour course gives students further skills lessons to improve speaking, listening, reading and writing. See timetable in brochure for more details. On completion of their course, students receive a certificate stating the level attained. A report from your teachers outlining progress made during the course is available on request.

Cambridge Exam preparation

The FCE and CAE preparation courses are a combination of 10 hours FCE or CAE preparation and 15 hours General English per week. The course starts 9-12 weeks prior to the exams. To join the FCE exam preparation course students have to be at upper-intermediate level and for the CAE exam preparation course they have to be at least advanced level. Also the examination can be taken at our school as part of the course. FCE and CAE exams can be booked through us (extra costs apply).

IELTS Exam preparation

The IELTS preparation course is a combination of 10 hours IELTS preparation and 15 hours General English per week. To join the IELTS preparation course, the students must be at least upper-intermediate level. The school offers three different starting dates for a four-week preparation course throughout the year. In addition the IELTS test can be booked through us and is available at a nearby test centre most Saturdays.

Intensive Christmas course

The school is a one of few in the UK that is open at Christmas, in this way taking the course is a great opportunity to experience London during this an English Christmas. The course starts a week before Christmas and can be booked for two to three weeks.

The course run all year round from a minimum of two weeks up to a long-term course of three, six or even twelve months. The course can start any Monday and the length of the course is up to the student.
